Comprehensive School Reform

The chief objective of the comprehensive school reform model is to find practical strategies to align and integrate all school programs so all students see relevance in their school work, and are motivated and challenged to succeed during and after high school. This comprehensive reform model includes, pathways, portfolios, culminating projects, plans beyond high school and the ability to demonstrate this readiness and success to their community.

Planning and Outreach Components

NLA partners have extensive experience with K-12 reform and college outreach programs, with connections to the state's network of 33 community and technical colleges, public and private 4-year universities.

Planning for Programs of College Outreach

NLA can consult with school districts to design effective programs of college outreach for middle or high school students. College outreach components include age/grade appropriate planning activities (portfolios) administered both in-school and after school, mentoring and tutoring using college students and other adults, structured after school programs, field trips to cultural events and college campuses. Programs can also be designed to help parents participate in planning activities with their children.
